CALTEX HYDRAULIC FLUIDSA hydraulic fluid or hydraulic liquid is the medium by which power is transferred in hydraulic machinery. Common hydraulic fluids are based on mineral oil or water. Examples of equipment that might use hydraulic fluids are excavators and backhoes, hydraulic brakes, power steering systems, transmissions, garbage trucks, aircraft flight control systems, lifts, and industrial machinery. The liquid must be non compressible and has fast air release. Additional properties include: Low foaming tendency and volatility. Good shear, thermal, oxidative and hydrolytic stability. Good filterability and demulsibility. Has antiwear and corrosion control.

Caltex Hydraulic Fluids are formulated with oil and ashless (zinc-free) additive that provides effective oxidation stability, water separability, foam suppression, and protection against wear, rust and corrosion. The anti-wear performance of these oils makes them especially suited for high‑performance industrial applications utilising axial piston pumps where pressures may exceed 5,000 psi (34 MPa). The zinc-free formula makes them well suited for applications involving yellow metals found in hydraulic systems. These are long-life lubricants (are not vegetable oil-based), with longer TOST (ASTM D943 oxidation stability test) lives than conventional zinc-based hydraulic fluids, which equates to longer potential service life and are especially applicable in high efficiency (high-speed, high-temperature, high output) applications where severe stress is placed on the hydraulic fluid.
There are three options for Hydraulic oil: AW, Rando HD and Rando HDZ. Please refer to the table below for differences:
